Full Body Bodybuilding Workout Routine

A full body workout routine can provide some unique advantages for those who employ it. And it has been proven successful by bodybuilders such as Steve Reeves. In fact the full body routine was the major training style prior to the advent of chemical use in the bodybuilding world, so it may be one of the best ways for the body to be built naturally.

One of the most fantastic physiques from the past was that of Harold Poole. He used this routine as a full body training package:

Harold Poole, another lifter who built a fantastic body, employed a single day workout as well and it looked like this:

3 Sets Barbell Press Behind Neck
6 Sets of Barbell Bench Press, Wide Grip
3 Sets of Barbell Rowing
3 Sets of Chins Behind Neck
3 Sets of Cheating Barbell Curl
5 Sets of Triceps Kickbacks
3 Sets of Front Squats
6 Sets of Donkey Calf Raises
1 Set of Sit-ups

Six repetitions performed per set.

Harold built an incredible body with that very routine. And so can you.

Steve Reeves used this full body training rotation during the week with 3 sets of 8-12 reps each, and one day off between workouts:

Workout 1:
Military Press
Bench Press
Bent-over Row
Barbell Curl
Triceps Extension
Parallel Squat
Standing Calf Raise
Deadlift
Crunch

Workout 2:
Alternating Dumbbell Military Press
Parallel Bar Dip
Pull-up
Alternating Dumbbell Curl
Triceps Extension Bench Press
Front Squat
Seated Calf Raise
Back Raise
Hanging Leg-raise

Workout 3:
Upright Row
Incline Press
One-arm Dumbbell Row
Concentration Curl
Lying Triceps Extension
Dumbbell Lunge
Standing Calf Raise
Deadlift
Sit-up

These full body workouts are great because working the full body really fires up the metabolism, and then also allows you four full days for recovery each week, which lets you get the needed growth time. A full body workout is something you have to try to appreciate.
